NTA
Nepal Teachers' Association
Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu
Establishment NTA was established in 1991 and registered under the National Guide Line Act of that time. It has school unit, VDC unit, constituency unit, district committee, regional committee and national committee with 70,000 general members.
Mission of the organization
Objectives and Functions of Association
Related with Teacher
(a) to guarantee the professional dignity, security, rights and respect of the teachers and to create good, honorable and satisfactory environment for their work.
(b) to start the program to achieve the success in the life and satisfaction in the profession of the teachers and to establish in their field.
(c) to cooperate to solve the problems of the teachers which come in daily life of the teacher.
(d) to expand the civil freedom, human rights, rights of trade union, professional knowledge and awareness of the teachers.
Related with teacher, student and guardian:
(a) to guarantee rights of the opportunity of the students to learn in dignified manner.
(b) to exchange the above visions and philosophies and thought and experiences among the teachers, student, guardian, educationist and socialist.
(c) to develop the large unity among the teachers, student and guardian and other educationist, officials of the school management committee and other related groups of education.
(d) to exchange the discussion and cooperation among the teacher and other related groups of teacher to achieve the teaching interest and needs of the children, youth and old people.
Related with education
(a) to work together with teacher and the local community for access in education, building the standard and well management.
(b) to initiate positive effort for contributing the knowledge progress by research in the field of education and to make appropriate policy and law in education sector.
(c) to develop purposeful social education movement to achieve the objectives.
Related with Social Responsibilities:
(a) to be always active to forward the process of the social dialogue and responsibilities building in all sector and level of social life for the development of the democracy, civil freedom, human rights, education and protection of environment.
(b) to build the social commitment to maintain the good governance at all level for the protection of democracy, justice and idealism.
(c) to start the campaign to make essential pressure for developing the policy based on their vision and objectives.
(d) to integrate and operate the social power in favor of State's development policy and program.
(e) to create environment of dialogue and consent in whole social life about their own vision, policy and program.
(f) to work together with the social organization, professional organization and trade union which have same thought and objectives.
Women Department
For increment of women participation and empowerment of woman leadership, there shall be one women department under the coordination of the chief of the Women Department at district, regional and national level. The women members of the concerned committee shall be member. The woman deputy secretary general shall be member secretary of the National Women Department. The chair, secretary general, secretary and treasurer of such committee shall be ex-officio member. The functions, duties and power shall be as prescribed. In Women Department, there shall be woman department in coordination of woman vice chair in which not more than 15 persons in the centre and not more than 9 persons in district.
Women Department shall constitute advisory group of five members in district and nine members in centre.

- Six Regional Member including Karnali who are supposed to be women regional coordinator in the region and deputy coordinator in central committee of NTA and other six women members will be elected from each region in next convention by constitution but this time this provision is fulfilled by nomination.
- Five members from Madhesi, Ethnic, Minorities, Myrters' family, retired teachers and Dalit communities have nominated with at least 33% women.
- One member from physically challenged/ with special education like deaf.
- Two CCM nominated directly by the central president.
- From next National Congress 38% delegates will be women.
